Nanotechnology laboratory

A laboratory for nanotechnology will soon be established within the Center for Molecular Imaging to enable the development of multi-modality nanoparticle probes. These probes will be used in multi-modality molecular imaging research to study multi-functional pathways in the same model system.

The laboratory will have facilities for the synthesis and conjugation of nanoparticles, including quantum dots, as well as equipment for analytical, physical and biochemical measurements. The laboratory has close links with the VCU departments of Bioengineering, Material Science and Chemistry, as well as the Nanotechnology Center and microscopy facilities on VCU's MCV campus.
